April 08 - Social networking battle over Scrabble.    A battle has been raging over online rights to the famous board game Scrabble. Social networking giant Facebook had developed its own version called Scrabulous which replicated much of the board game. After months of legal threats the makers of Scrabble produced a legal version for use on the Facebook site. But there is a sting in the tail - it can’t be used by US Facebook users as Hasbro owns the rights to Scrabble there whereas it is Mattel everywhere else.
